Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive treatment that propels natural mineral crystals onto the surface of the skin for gentle abrasion of the epidermis.  It does not involve trauma or bleeding. The treatment is quite relaxing and occurs slowly and progressively, removing only superficial layers of the epidermis revealing a youthful complexion and glow.

Your microdermabrasion treatment

The crystal causes an abrasive action that gently removes the surface layers of the skin, allowing smoother, polished, fresher skin to emerge. The vacuum action helps to stimulate microcirculation, increasing the blood supply that provides nutrients needed for skin regeneration. It also stimulates formation of new collagen and elastin to improve skin texture and elasticity.

The treatment takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour when combined with other anti-ageing treatments.

Prior to treatment

Discontinue the use of accutane, Glycolics, Chemical Peels, AHA's or Retin A, and laser resurfacing for 30 days prior to treatment and during the treatment period. Wait at least 14 days after receiving dermal fillers(restylane, perlane, jeuvederm) before beginning treatment. Please allow a few minutes to fill out and sign a procedure form prior to treatment.

After Treatment

The skin will have a pink glow, and you can resume your normal activities almost immediately. The procedure can be done during a lunch time. At the most, sensitive patients might experience a slight sensation resembling a light sunburn. In the days following, you may experience some flaking and dry skin as the skin regenerates. You are advised to wait 24 hours before applying make-up, and for at least 72 hours to avoid extreme heat, hot tubs, saunas, sun tanning, direct sun, exfoliants, astringents.
